What I like about journaling in the morning is it clears the waking fog and helps me get in touch with my thoughts and feelings. I can also work through any issues that have been bugging or stressing me out. It makes way, not only to relax into the day, but also to make better plans to steer me in the direction of my goals. It's also a great check-in to see all of the accomplishments along the way.
AM Challenge:
Start your day by free writing for 5-10 minutes to get in touch with your thoughts, feelings, and centering yourself.
Write out your to-do list for the day
See if you can end up with a list of 3-5 'feel-good' actions you'd like to happily employ into the day. Simplicity is your key: enjoy a cup of tea, go for a nature walk, have a game of cards and so on. Whatever brings you joy!
Practice Prompts using a Self-Care Theme:
I take care of myself by...
I am happy about...
The thing that holds me back is...
If I had no obstacles I would...
One action I can take today is...
Daily Inspiration:
"...self-care practices, ... can help us tap into our optimism, hope, healing and well-being. Expressive writing, where you express your thoughts and feelings, is a powerful self-care practice." ~ Lynda Monk
